If you’ve ever walked past a place on opening week and thought, yep… I’m absolutely going in there, this was one of those moments.

JR Marketing Group has been helping Miss Macaron get ready to open (website + some sign and print), and I’ve been watching the photos roll out thinking, surely they can’t look that good in real life…

They do.

Miss Macaron is now open at The Place in Urangan, Hervey Bay, just opposite Pier Park, so it’s an easy stop whether you’re heading to the pier, doing a morning walk, or just chasing a good coffee with something sweet.

The vibe

It’s got that clean, bright “treat yourself” feel without being over the top. The kind of place that works for:

  • a quick takeaway coffee

  • a mid-morning catch up

  • grabbing a box to take home (or to work, if you want to instantly become everyone’s favourite person)

What I ordered (and why)

I went full commitment on the first visit:

  • A mixed box with all 10 flavours (because choosing one flavour on your first visit feels like a mistake)

  • An iced caramel latte (perfect match with something sweet)

  • A 5-pack as well… because I’d had a little staycation at the Ramada the night before and it felt like a good excuse to do a gift drop.

On the way past, I dropped the 5-pack into reception, and honestly, I highly recommend this as a life strategy. Random “here’s some macarons” generosity should be more common.

The verdict

The macarons are exactly what you want them to be — fresh, soft, and packed with flavour. They’re not just pretty for Instagram (although they absolutely are that too). They genuinely taste as good as they look, which is the part that matters.

And this is the kind of business that’s going to do well because it nails the simple things:

  • a product people love sharing (and photographing)

  • a location that gets natural foot traffic

  • a brand that feels fun, not try-hard

Best time to go

If you want the smoothest experience, hit it:

  • early morning for coffee on the way through

  • or mid-morning when you can actually slow down and enjoy it

(Also: if you’re buying a box for home… buy the bigger one. Future you will thank you.)

My recommendation

If you’re a local, add it to your regular rotation.

If you’ve got visitors in town, this is an easy “let’s go grab something good” stop that feels like a little holiday moment.
